Well the party was a success for sure! We had five different friend families show up and the dads enjoyed the playground as much as the kids did! Ha ha. At one point us moms noticed the dads were pushing the swings, climbing the jungle gyms and chasing little ones while we were all sitting on the half wall chatting! Oh well! It was a fun day. The Mickey cake survived the transport and made it safely to the park! It also was a hit. Matthew's friends showered him with new toys, new clothes and even a pair of shoes. I loved watching him be so important. I guess that's part of that mommy joy, huh?! Here's a few shots for ya!

more cake!
I was just extremely proud of this "mommy moment," so of course I have to share it!
Look at this cake I made tonight for the party tomorrow! It's a little on the squared side, but I'm so excited with how it turned out. My first ever character cake! I'm quite sure there are many more to come down this road of birthdays!
Matthew said "OH Momma! Look a Mickey Mouse!" ... If he knows what it's supposed to be, that is ALL that matters in this round, huh?! It was SO SO stressful, lots of discussion and conversation with Nic on this one one--both before I started, after the first attempt broke in pieces and in the store trying to find black icing... but it worked out! I'm gonna be sad to cut into it tomorrow but that's part of it too!
Happy Birthday again, my birthday boy!
CAKE!
This is from Monday-- Matthew's actual birthday! His party is tomorrow though, so I thought I'd better get these ones uploaded before I have party ones to do! We had a fun time watching him destroy this piece of cake. Good thing walmart sells them by the slice!! He never ever touched a taste to his mouth, and help us if it got on his hands, but he had fun all the same!

Update time
Quick PG update: Two Fridays ago's appt went fairly well. The doc was upset I'd lost 3 pounds in two weeks since last seeing him. But I was expecting something along those lines, with how sick I'd been. He's prescribed some nausea meds, but they don't work if you don't take them regularly, I'm guessing. LOL... anyhow, I go back tomorrow to have another check up.
Trip update: Here I go again. I'm back and the pictures are uploaded... I took well over 300 and lowered the amount in my kodak gallery to just barely under the 300 marker. It was a fun week. We hit the pool most every day. That was a blast! I loved watching my son in the water. He showed no fear, diving straight in with his swimmies on his arms. We camped most pool time in the "mushroom pool" which was designed for Matthew's age but we tackled the "big" pools too. He didn't care so long as he was in the "wa-her." We spent one morning playing putt putt and that was hysterical. When Matthew wasn't throwing the ball into the bushes and asking a rhetorical "where did it go?" he was trying to whack whomever's ball was down, that or running on to the "nother one hole" LOL! It was great. Besides the pool we spent a lot of game and movies time just in the condo being family. It was nice to spend the time with Jamie's family that we don't see near enough. Matthew sure does love his Papa. Here's some pictures from the vacation for your enjoyment.
Birthday pictures to come later, Matthew had a semi fun time digging into his piece of cake with a fork. Never touched a taste of it to his mouth... But oh well. I'll get those uploaded soon.

Getting ready
Well this week I'm anticipating a couple things, thought I'd share them...
1. We leave for a FL vacation Friday. We're going to detour through Jamie's nana's house and see her. It's been since Thanksgiving since we have seen her and we need to remedy that! So this week is a week of laundry and packing and washing and cleaning to get things in order before we leave. I can't wait for the vacation though, we need one!
2. Yesterday was the first day in five that I hadn't puked up everything eaten, so that was nice. Morning sickness has finally really taken a toll on me. I'm hoping it will stay off while I finish up all the "readies" this week and get down to FL. I want to be laying by the pool, not the toilet when we get there!
3. Friday we have another OB appt. I'm hoping to actually hear the heartbeat from the outside this time around. Last time (two weeks ago) they didn't try, saying it was too early still. So we'll see. I am so anxious to hear it! --to know this baby is okay.

Dinning Room
I find myself not having near as much to post about without a constant weight loss challenge or consistently bragging on Matthew...
However I'm excited about our "new" dinning room so I thought I'd share. I'd gotten the table and chairs as a gift from a friend over a year ago. We didn't have space for it at the time so we stored it. Then Jamie's sister moved into an unfurnished appartment and we loaned the set to her while she was there. In the meantime, we moved last fall and do have space for it! So when Kimby's lease was up this weekend, we got our dining set for the first time in our actual possession! I love it!!! It meant squashing our huge playroom, but that hasn't seemed to stop or squash Matthew's playing at all. Here's a pic for you. Oh, and yes, Moses thinks he is now king Tut and the table is a throne just for him. (Sorry it's a dark pic)
